Q: Where is SPACE CAMP located?
A: Huntsville, Alabama, the birthplace of our nation’s space
program.
Q: How do I get to Huntsville?
A: Huntsville International Airport – major airline carriers fly
into Huntsville:

Q: I’m arriving by plane. Can I get transportation from the
airport to SPACE CAMP?
A: Yes. Transportation services are available for $25.00 each
person, one-way or round trip. Please see the Transportation Form
for additional information.
Q: Is there a charge for parking?
A: No, there are no parking fees at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.
Q: What should I pack for my trip to SPACE CAMP?
A: Casual clothes for 4-7 days
Socks and athletic shoes
Climate appropriate outerwear (jacket / rain poncho)
Sleepwear
Towels and washcloths (sheets and pillowcase are provided)
Prescription medications
Travellers Checks in $10 and $20 denominations
Calling card – MCI recommended
Spending money for vending machines - $1.00 denominations
Combination padlock
Toothbrush and toothpaste

Please DO NOT bring cellular phones, pagers, portable music
players, hand-held computer games, skateboards, rollerblades, or
other expensive items.
Q: Are meals provided?
A: Yes, cafeteria meals are included in the program, as well as one
banquet dinner.
Q: Where will I sleep?
A: All registered guests will have reserved accommodations in our
Habitat Building – a futuristic dormitory facility that houses 7
people in each room. Each room has a storage area for each guest to
store personal belongings.
Q: There are several people in my group. Can we all stay together
in the same room?
A: Yes, if you book your reservation within a group block and are
reserved for the same program type (Adult Weeklong or Adult /
Teenager Weekend, for example). Each program will vary in scheduling
and it will be necessary to keep team members together.
You do not need to book the entire group at the same time. Make your
reservation to hold your place and then go find friends to come
along with you. Just be sure to indicate that they are part of your
group when booking - there will be one person listed as the "lead"
for each group booking. Maximum in one Habitat room is 7
persons.
Q: I have prescribed medications, am I allowed to keep them with
me or my belongings?
A: The U.S. Space & Rocket Center has a 24-hour Sick Bay with
certified nurses and basic medical care staff. All medications must
be turned in to the Sick Bay upon arrival, where they will be
dispensed as needed and kept in a safe, secure location until
departure.
Q: I have a physical impairment; can I still participate in the
program?
A: Yes. Most areas of the SPACE CAMP facility are ADA compliant and
allow easy travel to/from program locations. We also have a
lift-vehicle for transport off-site (airport or other area
locations). While there are some activities that do require physical
agility and capability for participation, there are many attractions
and activities that provide a fun and exciting visit. Please let us
know a minimum of 3-weeks before arrival if you will require
transportation services, modified housing or other visit
arrangements.
Q: Can I leave the facility during the program?
A: This is highly discouraged, as the program schedule is very full
with fun activities and team events and would affect the overall
experience. Our facility is designed to provide all visit needs:
food, shelter, medical care, security, and our staff will do
everything possible to assist during your program.
Q: What information will you require for my visit?
A: Several forms are required prior to the program by each attendee
to facilitate a
smooth and safe visit:

SCUBA (for Weeklong Adult or Weeklong Adult/Teenager Programs)
Q: Can I take pictures?
A: Cameras of all kinds are welcome inside the Museum and SPACE CAMP
facility. The only area where cameras are prohibited is the
Spacedome IMAX Theater.
Q: Can I talk to people that are going on the trip before we go?
A : Yes, we will have a chat room set up through the website where
you can talk to others that are going on the trip. You can discuss
anything related to the trip, or new science fiction movies or just
anything to do with your favorite science fiction topic in general.
Q: How much spending money should I bring?
A : Once you arrive at Space Camp there is nothing you need to buy.
You might want to bring some extra cash for snacks, cash bar at the
banquet and the gift shop.
Q : When will I get my final documents for the trip?
A : We will put together a package for each participant/family that
will include all of the necessary travel documents (finalized
itinerary with meeting point, maps, etc.) and mail it around 30 days
prior to departure.
Q : Can I book my airfare through Beyond Boundaries Travel?
A : Yes. You can access the Beyond Boundaries' great rates and
special discounts through our website and receive rates the same as
or better than you would through Orbitz or Travelocity. To access
these rates you must make an online booking for the security of your
credit card information but you will still have access to a live
reservations operator during the reservations process.
Q : What are the benefits of booking my air with Beyond
Boundaries Travel?
A : If you book your air with us and something happens to your bags,
etc. than we will be able to help you track it down. Otherwise, if
you book your air through an outside source you are responsible for
your own baggage and we will not be able to assist you with the
airlines.
Q : My travel plans require me to come in early or leave late for
the program. Can I stay extra days at Space Camp?
A : Yes, you can reserve one night before or one night after your
scheduled camp. The cost for the extra night is $89.00 per person
and includes all meals.
Q : Should I tip the guides at the end of the program?
A: No, all gratuities have been included.
Q: I have a science fiction themed website - can we have
reciprocal links?
A : Of course, we love to have the support of websites and give
support in return. Please send us an e-mail with your website
address and once you have a link up on your site we will put one our
site.
Q : I will be traveling with a child that I am not the legal
guardian or parent to - what do I need?
A : You will need to have forms that are notarized proving that the
child's parent or guardian approve your travel plans.
